Love today.
Today is my niece's first month's birthday ! Hurray for Jernelle ( her name ) !
Went there in the early afternoon, lots are there eating and chit-chatting away. Didnt really know the people there as lots are the colleagues and friends of my cousin and her hubby. Lots of food around but the only thing that attracted my sight would be the red eggs and the ang gu kueh. Both of these represent different stuff. The red eggs are the most common stuff on a monthly's birthday, think it represents good luck to the family and people around. The other one, ang gu kueh, which is flat in size, represents that the gender of the baby is a girl. Heard from my mum that if the baby is a boy then the kueh would be in another size which is more pointed than the normal ang gu kueh which is flat and rounded.
While at there, saw some pictures of Jernelle when just borned. Know that when a baby is just borned, their face would be purple-ish in colour showing the shortened of oxygen in the brain. But the colour would slowly change back to normal when the baby started to breathe on their own. The pictures also show some of their family times together. So sweet !
Hope that Jernelle would grow into a very very healthy kid and be pretty always.
